Black leaf

Certain subjects are difficult to ignore as a photographer. Their beauty defies you to ignore it. Even if it is commonplace and overdone, like a sunset.

Or a leaf.

I find flowers, trees, blades of grass and leaves to be some  the most gorgeous and endlessly fascinating things on earth. Their variety, colour, texture and enforced humility are the closest evidence we have a God.

As I walked across the wet grass this morning my eye caught a black leaf with some red flesh still in visible.  I put it up against a red naugahyde chair and took a couple shots.  I hope you get as much pleasure from these little things as I did.
